A Li'l Bit About Me

Hello, you all (that's long for y'all).  A short little autobiography about myself sounds boring, I know, but it's one of those necessary evils when you make a website totally devoted to yourself and your accomplishments.  Anyways, here goes.

For all you nosy and curious fans, my name is Marianne Wade, authoress extraordinaire and actress-in-the-making . . . hopefully.

What?  You think that sounds a little too conceited?  Fine.

I suck at writing and acting.

How's that for low self-esteem?  Beat that!

Anyways, I guess you could say I'm pretty average at both said activities, but I have a few fans . . . somewhere.  But I guess I'm good enough to win the heart of a lady at my church, who has connections to just about everything in the show biz world.  She told me she'd keep an eye open for any auditions for TV shows and let me know if she finds any.  And she's also going to help me get my books published.  Oh, and then I know this other guy who has been involved in the making of several movies ("Planet of the Apes" was one that I know of), but he's not high enough on the status ladder to get me an acting job.

Oh yes, more nosy fans would love to hear that I was born on July 10th, 1987 in the city of Akron, Ohio.  I would tell you what time of the day, but that's too much of a stretch.  My favorite foods include pasta of any kind, salads with Italian dressing and grape tomatoes, chocolate (no dark stuff—it's soooooo bitter and not sweet at all ), pasta, chicken and dumplings, almost any kind of pie, pasta, chocolate, Italian style wedding soup, potato soup, potato salad, macaroni salad, all kinds of bread, chocolate, pasta (if you can't tell, I would DIE on a low-carb diet . . . ), etc.  I really like action/adventure movies, old Alfred Hitchcock thrillers, comedies, Muppet movies (what?  Stop looking at me like I'm weird!), and the occasional chick flick (The Family Man was really good, for example . . . and if you want to call The Princess Bride a chick flick, then I guess you could say one of my favorite movies ever is a chick flick).  I have an older brother, too, and then I have a pretty hysterical mother and my dad . . . well, let's not talk about my dad.  *growls*

I enjoy counted cross stitch, even though it's very old-ladyish and I feel like a Frump Queen when I'm doing it.  It's just so relaxing, and I feel great whenever I finish a design!  This is the one I'm currently working on: http://dimensions-crafts.com/showproduct.asp?reqtype=1&colID=1&onPage=6&onItem=88&prodID=13694  It's really hard and annoying, but it'll look great when it's finished!  Right now I'm done with the Statue of Liberty's torso and George Washington's face, but I'm moving right along.

I hope you haven't fallen asleep yet, reading my incredibly boring biography.  Don't worry, it gets better.  Or, more boring, actually.

My favorite pastimes (when I'm not writing or doing other stupid things that make people question my sanity) include the afore-mentioned counted cross stitch, what America calls soccer and the rest of the world calls football, guitar, and piano.  I also like to browse movie racks at stores like Wal-Mart and Best Buy, and I like movies that are based on books.  I like to critique the differences between book and movie.  In fact, I was so upset in The Two Towers when the Elves came to Helm's Deep that I stood up in my chair in the movie theater and shouted "HEY!  THAT WASN'T IN THE BOOK!"  And then when they took Frodo and Sam to Osgiliath, I wept loudly and bitterly, accompanied with pounding the chair in front of me with my fist.  When I regained some of my composure I said very shakily through my tears, "Get it right, you guys!  Do you know upset Mr. Tolkien is with you right now?"

Okay, so maybe I overact sometimes . . . but seriously, I don't get too upset if book and movie aren't word-for-word with each other.  It's just fun comparing and contrasting, I guess.

Pet peeves include the low-carb craze that's been sweeping the nation (I heard a very good joke on TV a while back—"No wonder so many people lose weight on the Atkins diet!  The food tastes so bland that nobody eats it anyway!"), people who make disgusting noises just to entertain themselves if they're bored, the fact that the only time the weather remains constant around here is if it's snowing like there's no tomorrow, people who chew with their mouth open or snap their teeth together as they chew, Spanish class, tailgaters, bluegrass music, and smooth jazz.  Oh, and when people don't have a good comeback so they say, "S-o-o-o-o-o?"

And my bio wouldn't be complete without mention of my beloved four-legged friends.  There's Wrangler, the darn cutest little puppy I've ever seen.  He's a black Lab, and he'll be 5 months old on the first of the year.  Then there's Marshall, a tan and white Whippet who needs to be on Zoloft, or Prozac, or something to make him stop looking like Eeyore.  And of course, Courtney, the princess of my backyard.  She's one of the moodiest horses I've ever dealt with, but she's willing to work sometimes and she has the makings of a GREAT trail horse.  I would have loved to do barrel racing with her, but that's just not her thing.  And I've never seen a horse with such an addiction to food, other than Black Star, maybe.  But Courtney needs it worse than Black Star did, seeing as how she has the tendency to be a bit underweight (she's on a constant weight building supplement and she gets lots of roughage.  She does good on it).

Okay, has it been boring enough for you?  I hope so!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peace, love, and happiness,

Marianne
